How large should the sample size be when checking blood sugar levels?

A small dosage of 0.5 micro liters would be sufficient.

Test Strips and Coding

Does it need coding?

No, users are not required to code the meter. This is a step you can now avoid as the meter will automatically detect the test strip used.

Do the Diamond series glucose meters use the same test strips?

Yes, all glucose meters in the Diamond series share the same test strips which is convenient for the user.

Meter Care and Battery

What is the memory capacity? And how can it be retrieved?

The meter stores the 450 most recent blood glucose test results along with respective dates and times in its memory. You can review the test results with these easy steps.

Reviewing Test Results
STEP1.

Enter the Memory Mode
With the meter turned off, push “Main button”. The first test result will appear, indicating that you are in the memory mode.
When using the meter for the first time or if the results have been deleted, “---” will appear, indicating that there are no test results in the memory.

STEP2.

Recall Test Results
After the last test result, the most recent test result appears with the date and time. Push “Main button” to review your last 450 test results in order of time. When the memory is full, the oldest result will be deleted when the latest is added.

STEP3.

Exit the Memory Mode
Push “Main button” for three seconds to turn off the meter or after the last result, the display will show “End” and it will turn off automatically.


NOTE: The results of the control solution tests are NOT stored in the memory. The results stored are only the blood glucose results.

Is the time and date or memory lost when the battery is removed?

Recharging or removal of the battery does not affect the results stored in the memory.

How many reminder alarms are built in the Diamond series meters?

There are 4 reminder alarms.

What kind of battery does it use?

Li-Polymer battery. Rechargeable. The low battery symbol appears on the screen indicating that the battery is low and it is time to recharge the battery.

1. Connect the USB cable to the data port of the meter.
2. Connect the other end of the cable to a free USB port on your personal computer.
3. “USB” will appear on the display and the charging indicator will light up in red when the battery is recharging. After the battery is fully charged, the red light will turn green.
4. Remove the USB cable and the meter will automatically switch off.

NOTE: .It is absolutely necessary that the meter is fully recharged every 3.5 months to ensure longevity of the battery. The meter may not be rechargeable if recharging is not performed over 3.5 months.
.It should take approximately 2 hours to be fully charged. Recharging the battery does not affect the test results stored in the memory.
.The USB cable is for battery recharging and data transmission to a computer. If you wish to recharge through a wall outlet, please obtain a USB adapter.

Special Features

How to turn the test reminder on/off?

You may set up none or the entire reminder alarms (1-4). The meter displays “On” or “OFF , push “Main button” to turn on or turn off so as to set the first reminder alarm.

Push “Main button” to select “On”, and then press SET to set the hour. When the hour is flashing, push “Main button” to add an hour. Push SET to confirm and go to minutes, push “Main button” to add the minutes. Hold “Main button” longer to accelerate it. Push SET to confirm and go to the next alarm setting.

If you do not want to set an alarm, push SET to skip this step.
If you want to turn off an alarm, find the alarm number by pushing SET in the setting mode, push “Main button” to change from “ON’ to “OFF”.

When the alarm goes off, the meter will beep and automatically turn on. You can push “Main button” to silence the alarm and insert a test strip to begin testing. If you do not push “Main butto”, the meter will beep for 2 minutes then switch off. If you do not want to test at this time, push “Main button” to switch off the meter.

Can I download the results on the data management system? How?

You can use the meter with an USB cable and the Health Care Software System to view your test results on your personal computer. To learn more about the Health Care Software System or to obtain a USB cable separately, please contact your local customer service or the place of purchase for assistance.

1. Obtaining the required cable and installing the software

2. Connecting to a personal computer

Connect the cable to a USB port on your computer. With the meter switched off, connect the other end of the USB cable to the meter data port. "USB" will appear on the meter display, indicating that the meter is in communication mode.

3. Data transmission

To transmit data, follow the instructions provided in the software. Results will be transmitted with the dates and times. Remove the cable and the meter will automatically switch off.

It also has a Bluetooth function to make the data transmission process easier.
